Navid Gholikhani holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a master’s degree in Environmental Management. His journey into wildlife conservation began in 2010 when he joined the Iranian Cheetah Society, specializing in research and monitoring.
Early in his career, Navid became a key member of the society’s monitoring and research division. After gaining expertise in population surveys and camera trapping techniques, he successfully led two out of the three phases of cheetah population monitoring in the 2010s.
Beyond his research and habitat conservation efforts, Navid has actively engaged in community facilitation for various projects. He strongly believes that involving local communities is essential for protecting endangered species, particularly the Asiatic cheetah. His dedication to both scientific research and community-driven conservation has made him a valuable asset to the field.
Navid Gholikhani also served as a core member of the Board of Directors of the Iranian Cheetah Society for two years, contributing to the organization’s strategic planning and decision-making in cheetah conservation efforts.
