Morteza Pourmirzai has pursued a master’s degree in biodiversity. He has spent many years working as both a volunteer and a full-time contributor to conservation projects. He began his volunteer activities in 2007 with the Iranian Cheetah Society and later took on management roles in the Public Relations and Education departments in the following years. His most significant role began in 2017 when he took on a leadership position at the Iranian Cheetah Society. By taking on the position of CEO until the end of 2023, he dedicated all his focus and the efforts of his organization to the conservation of the Asiatic cheetah and its habitats. The shortage of human resources in NGOs led him to take on a dual role, where alongside his managerial position, he became a field expert in monitoring and cheetah conservation. In addition to his expertise in education and facilitation, he also gained field skills.
